Driving can be difficult in the Washington metro area, due to some confusing signs and aggressive drivers. There is a great deal of traffic during rush hours, and many of the road rules change during these peak hours.
Signs are all in English. Parking is plentiful. Roads for the most part are well maintained in Virginia and Maryland. They are not as well maintained in Washington. Within Washington, streets are arranged in a grid, with broad diagonal roads at intervals, further complicated by traffic circles.
