The Sierra Leone Police (SLP) is the country's national police force. There are twelve law enforcement districts, and units dedicated to criminal investigation, traffic, mineral resources, traffic, and operational support, among others.
The SLP charges a fee for police reports for foreign nationals. Payment must first be made into the Sierra Leone Police Revenue Generation Fund Account at the Bank of Sierra Leone, and receipt presented to the SLP. If you report a crime but do not need a reference number or written report, there is no charge.
